GRVIS CONFIG?.....Craig Canton wrote

Does anyone know how to configure a Gravis GamePad Pro for BZ?

Mike Evans replied

you can load the software on the cd, read the manual, and run it in keyboard emulation mode.

VOODOO QUESTION.....Mike wrote:

You should be able to play the new "enhanced" version with just about any semi-decent accelerator. It's not just "voodoo" enhanced, in fact is comes bundled with the STB Riva 128 card.

I was wondering , though, and never got a good answer.. Okay, so BZ is enhanced.. do any of the graphics enhancements carry over to the Voodoo1 cards? I don't see why it couldn't handle the extra jet plumes, chunky explosions, dust, and other special effects..are these Voodoo2 extras only or not?

Haemish Edgerton replied

The difference is that the Enhanced version uses new, larger textures. The reason it will not work on Voodoo1s is due to lack of texture memory. 2Mb just won't cut it. SO you need a card with more texture memory!

The only exception for the Voodoo1s is the Pure3D, which comes with 6Mb of RAM (2Mb Frame Buffer, 4Mb Texture RAM). This is why I bought a Pure3D! No lame "reference-copy" cards for me (i.e. Diamond, Creative Labs, etc.)

The "enhanced" BattleZone works just fine on a Pure3D.

Of course, now I just got my Quantum3D Obsidian2 X-24, the Pure3D is relegated back to my old P-133 :)

Anyway, hope I answered your technical question.
